SSM documents should be tagged

Description

Flags AWS Systems Manager documents that have no user-defined tags. Tags help associate documents with their owning team and use case; untagged documents are operationally opaque.

Remediation

Apply at least one user-defined tag to every SSM document.

Steps

  1. Open the AWS Systems Manager console and choose Documents.
  2. Select the document and choose Actions, Tag document.
  3. Add at least one tag with a non-aws: prefixed key.
  4. Save the changes.
