SageMaker endpoint production variants should have an initial instance count greater than 1

Description

This control checks whether production variants of an Amazon SageMaker AI endpoint have an initial instance count greater than 1. The control fails if the endpoint's production variants have only 1 initial instance.

Remediation

Configure SageMaker endpoint production variants to have an initial instance count greater than 1 for high availability.

Steps

  1. Open the Amazon SageMaker console.
  2. Navigate to 'Endpoints' or 'Endpoint configurations'.
  3. Select the endpoint configuration that needs remediation.
  4. Edit the endpoint configuration.
  5. For each production variant, set the 'Initial instance count' to a value greater than 1.
  6. Save the endpoint configuration.
  7. Update any endpoints using this configuration to apply the changes.
