Description

Checks if RDS instances have automatic backups enabled. This check also fetches the tags associated with each RDS instance.

Remediation

To ensure that RDS instances have automatic backups enabled, follow these steps:

Steps

  1. Log in to the AWS Management Console and open the Amazon RDS console.
  2. In the navigation pane, click on 'Databases'.
  3. Select the RDS instance for which you want to enable automatic backups.
  4. Click on 'Modify'.
  5. In the 'Backup' section, locate the 'Backup retention period' setting.
  6. Set the 'Backup retention period' to a value greater than 0 days to enable automatic backups.
  7. Scroll down and click on 'Continue'.
  8. Review the changes and click on 'Modify DB Instance' to apply the new settings.
