RDS global clusters should run on a supported Aurora MySQL version
Description
Flags Amazon RDS global clusters running on an Aurora MySQL minor version older than the current AWS standard-support window. Extended-support versions miss bug-fix releases and incur additional fees; out-of-support versions stop receiving security patches entirely.
Remediation
Upgrade each affected Aurora MySQL global cluster to a minor version on standard support.
Steps
- Open the Amazon RDS console and choose Databases, then Global clusters.
- Select the affected cluster and choose Modify.
- Pick an EngineVersion on standard support and apply the change.
- Monitor the upgrade and verify application compatibility.
