RDS DB instances should be tagged

Description

Flags Amazon RDS DB instances that have no user-defined tags. Tags help associate instances with their owning team, environment, and cost centre; untagged instances are operationally opaque.

Remediation

Apply at least one user-defined tag to every RDS DB instance.

Steps

  1. Open the Amazon RDS console and select the DB instance.
  2. Choose the Tags tab and select Add.
  3. Add at least one tag with a non-aws: prefixed key.
  4. Save the changes.
