Description

Verifies that Kinesis data streams have a data retention period of at least 168 hours (7 days).

Remediation

To remediate Kinesis stream data retention, you need to increase the retention period to meet the minimum requirements.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the Amazon Kinesis console
  2. Select the Kinesis data stream
  3. Go to 'Configuration' tab
  4. Click 'Edit' for data retention settings
  5. Increase the retention period to at least 168 hours (7 days)
  6. Save the configuration
  7. Verify the retention period is updated
