ElastiCache (Redis OSS) clusters should have automatic backups enabled

Description

This control checks if ElastiCache for Redis clusters have automatic backup scheduled. It fails if the SnapshotRetentionLimit for the Redis cluster is less than 1.

Remediation

To schedule automatic backups on an ElastiCache for Redis cluster, refer to the Amazon ElastiCache User Guide.

Steps

  1. Access the Amazon ElastiCache console.
  2. Select the Redis cluster to be updated.
  3. Configure the SnapshotRetentionLimit to be 1 or more.
  4. Save the changes.
