ElastiCache (Redis OSS) clusters should have automatic backups enabled

Description

Verifies that ElastiCache (Redis OSS) cache clusters and ElastiCache (Redis OSS or Valkey) replication groups have automatic backups scheduled with a SnapshotRetentionLimit of at least 1.

Remediation

To schedule automatic backups on an ElastiCache cluster or replication group, refer to the Amazon ElastiCache User Guide.

Steps

  1. Access the Amazon ElastiCache console.
  2. Select the cluster or replication group to be updated.
  3. Configure the SnapshotRetentionLimit to be 1 or more.
  4. Save the changes.
