EKS node groups should run on a supported Kubernetes version
Description
Flags Amazon EKS node groups that run on a Kubernetes version older than the current AWS EKS standard support window. Extended-support versions miss bug-fix releases and incur additional fees; unsupported versions stop receiving security patches entirely.
Remediation
Upgrade each EKS node group to a Kubernetes version on AWS standard support.
Steps
- Open the Amazon EKS console and select the cluster.
- Choose the Compute tab and select the affected node group.
- Choose Update version and pick a Kubernetes version on standard support.
- Follow the prompts to roll out the upgrade.
