ECS capacity providers should have managed termination protection enabled

Description

Flags ECS capacity providers backed by Auto Scaling groups that do not have managed termination protection enabled. Without it, the ASG can terminate instances that are still running ECS tasks.

Remediation

Enable managed termination protection on every Auto Scaling-backed ECS capacity provider.

Steps

  1. Open the Amazon ECS console and choose Capacity providers.
  2. Select the affected provider and choose Update.
  3. Enable Managed termination protection.
  4. Save the changes.
