Unused EC2 EIPs should be removed

Description

Checks whether unused Amazon EC2 Elastic IPs have been removed.

To comply with this control, the identified unused Amazon EC2 Elastic IP (EIP) should be released.

Sign in to the AWS Management Console and open the Amazon EC2 console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/.
In the navigation pane, under 'Network & Security', select 'Elastic IPs'.
Locate the Elastic IP identified as unused.
Select the identified Elastic IP.
Choose 'Actions', then 'Release addresses'.
Confirm the action by choosing 'Release' in the confirmation dialog.
