EC2 launch templates should be tagged

Description

Flags EC2 launch template that have no user-defined tags. Tags help associate launch templates with their owning team and use case; untagged launch templates are operationally opaque.

Remediation

Apply at least one user-defined tag to every EC2 launch template.

Steps

  1. Open the Amazon EC2 console and select the affected EC2 launch template.
  2. Open the Tags tab and add at least one tag with a non-aws: prefixed key.
  3. Save the changes.
