EC2 internet gateways should be tagged

Description

Flags internet gateways that have no user-defined tags. Tags help associate them with their owning team and use case; untagged internet gateways are operationally opaque.

Remediation

Apply at least one user-defined tag to every EC2 internet gateway.

Steps

  1. Open the Amazon EC2 console and select the affected EC2 internet gateway.
  2. Open the Tags tab and add at least one tag with a non-aws: prefixed key.
  3. Save the changes.
