Auto scaling groups associated with a load balancer should use ELB health checks

Description

Confirms that Auto Scaling groups associated with Classic Load Balancers or target groups use ELB health checks. Groups without load balancer associations are considered not applicable.

Remediation

To remediate this, ensure that all Auto Scaling groups associated with Classic Load Balancers or target groups have their health check type set to 'ELB'.

Steps

  1. Open the Amazon EC2 console.
  2. Navigate to 'Auto Scaling Groups' under 'Auto Scaling'.
  3. Select the Auto Scaling group associated with a Classic Load Balancer or target group.
  4. Edit the Auto Scaling group health check settings.
  5. Set the health check type to 'ELB' and save the changes.
